Frequently asked questions.

Why do I need to apply for the residential songwriting retreat?

We run 5 writing rooms at each residential retreat so numbers are limited. We ask that our residential artists have experience in writing, recording, and releasing music as our daily sessions are run like professional, producer-lead, writing rooms. We also need to have a blend of artists (guitar, piano, singers bass players etc.) so that the teams have a good mix of musical talent to share and create the best song that day. We offer the one-day songwriting Master Class to artists who are starting their songwriting journey.

What is the age requirement for the P7 events?

You have to be over 18 years old to attend the Pro7ect residential songwriting retreats. If you are between 16-18 and want to join our Masterclasses you need to provide a signed parental consent form.

When will I receive confirmation that I’ve been accepted?

Pro7ect is an artist-lead event and we try to get back to our applicants within a week of their applying. We send the audio demo’s to our headline producers to assess the viability of each applicant and this could take a little longer sometimes as we are all professionals, working on various projects. Your place will be confirmed once full payment has been received.

What should I bring to the retreat?

We ask artists to bring any essential musical equipment with them. The writing spaces will be equipped with Keyboards, Laney back-line (bass and guitar amps), and our sponsors Prism Sound (interfaces) and PMC (monitors) add the magic to the production suits. The Quadrangle live lounge studio has the same piano that Freddie Mercury wrote and recorded ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ on… it’s a beautiful grand.  You will love it!

Who owns the rights to the songs I’ve written at the retreat?

Each writing team will be given a writer’s agreement at the start of each day stating that all copyright percentages will be split equally between the collaborating writers in each team. The masters from each session will be held by Pro7ect and all contributing artists will have access to their Masters without fee or fine.

Do I have to share a bedroom with someone?

There are a limited number of single occupancy rooms available at Rockfield (you can upgrade your package), but the majority of our accommodation is shared. We pair artists with same gender room-mates and there is some shared accommodation available with separate sleeping spaces but shared bathroom facilities.

What is included in my ticket price?

The Residential package includes four night’s accommodation (twin share), full catering (breakfast, lunch and dinner), 3 writing days in Rockfield’s Quadrangle and Coach House studios, top of the range audio equipment, Headline Producer fees, engineers & P7 Alumni benefits.

The Masterclass package includes 1-day studio session, Headline producer fees, lunch and P7 Alumni benefits.

Prices also cover hot non-alcoholic beverages (tea and coffee) and water. It does not cover alcoholic beverages; however, a limited range (beers and wine) will be provided at the P7 honesty bar (cash only).

What is your cancellation policy?

If the event is postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions artists will receive either a full refund or priority booking on the next P7 event. Artist cancellations will only be accepted up to six weeks before the event takes place. If cancelled before this time your fee will be returned less 25% cancellation charge. If your place is cancelled after this time, we will retain 50% of your fee.

Can I spread the payments to make it more affordable?

We offer artists a 4-part payment plan to help manage the costs. Ask for this in your application and we will send you details.
